Welcome and thank you for taking the time to visit our website.  Befriending is, quite simply, a positive way for volunteer adults to support children in their own communities.   It is an opportunity for an adult and child to spend quality time together on a regular basis.

We know that befriending works.  We’re proud to say Befrienders has been working in Argyll and Bute for over 30 years and during that time we have seen many successful befriending relationships.  The many benefits of befriending include raised self-esteem and self confidence.  Most importantly, as our many volunteer befrienders in Argyll will tell you – Befriending is Fun.

Do get in touch if you would like to volunteer.  Befrienders can be any age (over 17), can be single or in a relationship.  Befrienders don’t need to be parents, in employment or have qualifications.  We would like to hear from you if you have a sense of humour, commitment, patience and enjoy spending time in the company of young people.
